Describe your background and industry experience, and explain how it will help you contribute to the SOCAN Board of Directors?
Since 1998, my professional career has been shaped by my passion for composing music for movies and video games. Having been nominated and awarded, my commitment to both industries remains undeniable. In 2012, I demonstrated my ability to adapt to new trends by co-founding Pixel Audio, a company specializing in interactive audio for video games.
I have a solid foundation in understanding the nuances of the industry from my undergraduate studies in film and music. Also, my experience as a member of SPACQ’s Board of Directors has given me an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing music professionals.
As a member of SOCAN’s Board of Directors, I intend to use my diverse background to contribute to the organization’s vision. My expertise in music composition and my experience as an entrepreneur will provide me with a unique perspective in making strategic decisions. In addition, my familiarity with emerging technologies in the entertainment industry will enable me to provide innovative input into discussions about the future of SOCAN.
In short, my diverse professional background, musical composition skills, entrepreneurial experience and community involvement position me well to contribute to SOCAN’s Board of Directors.
