In your opinion, what issues will be most important to SOCAN members over the next three years?
Pay close attention to the proper functioning of the Spanish Point system at all levels so that members can register and manage their works, review their repertoire and ensure the proper administration of their royalties. Protect and advance the rights of authors, composers and publishers in a rapidly evolving industry, particularly with the rise of artificial intelligence. SOCAN must maintain strong leadership to anticipate technological developments and safeguard the value of musical works. It must also continue to negotiate the best tariffs and represent our rights holders effectively across all music uses. Finally, SOCAN must remain a global leader among collective management organizations and continue to represent you effectively with industry partners, governments and the Copyright Board of Canada.
